Curcumin, an active anti-inflammatory compound found in the spice turmeric has been shown to help fight many forms of cancer. New findings suggest that natural phenols in turmeric can stop tumor growth in prostate cancer by blocking receptors used to promote cell tissue growth. Additional research published in the journal PLoS One explains the exact way the turmeric molecules work by targeting the amyloid fibrils associated with the abnormal protein growth and plaque formation that is characteristic of Alzheimer's disease patients.
